my birthday

My birthday was yesterday. It started out kind of crummy. I wasn't feeling well and then Greg and I found out that Greg's grandpa's cancer is back and that he is in pain. I wondered if it was going to be when of those days when two things happened. June laughed!! Catina was playing peek-a-boo with her and she just started to giggle. It was the best feeling in the world. Secondly, June's insurance paperwork came in so we can now fit her for her permanent hearing aids. Both of these things made it a great day!

The other day I was looking through my t-shirt drawer to find something to wear when Catina spotted something yellow. Last Saturday I had gone to a Mom to Mom sale and found a Snow White dress for $1. I hid it in my t-shirt drawer for a rainy day. Besides it was a size 7 and Catina is a size 4. Well, that yellow really stuck out and Catina asked me if it were a Snow White dress. WHAT?! I told her it wasn't and kept digging through my drawer. She was convinced it was and I told her that she now won't be surprised when Mommy brings it out to play some day. I really didn't mean to lie but I didn't want her to find that dress!! I gave it to her because I knew it would just be torture that she knew it was in there. She has been wearing it for days and continues to eat apples and fall asleep until her prince (Daddy) comes to kiss her to wake her up.

Catina has really fallen in love with June. They sleep in the same room and Catina is always asking me to take their picture together.

This really cracked me up. Catina just sat in the driveway with her tutu, sunglasses and her lawn chair. She wondered when we could go in the pool. Um, it was 60 degrees...

Catina was being extra silly the other day so I turned to her and said "Where did you come from?" And, she said "From your heart! Jesus made me Mommy!" How true that is.

My little ear piece

June got her loaner hearing aid yesterday. It seems she is smiling more but it could be that we are staring at her more to see if she can hear. Its a lot harder than I thought to keep the little bugger in. She moves her head and it falls out! We plan to get some wig tape to stick it on.

I really wish I would write down everything funny Catina says and does. We were making cookies this morning and when I turned around this is what I saw.

Catina makes up words all the time. Right now her favorites are incy, planty and jiggin. Incy and planty are when she really doesn't like something. She says "its too incy" when I ask her to wear something she doesn't like. Now jiggin is her favorite. June is always jiggin. She is jiggin when her head bobbles and jiggin when she starts to talk to us. We like when June is jiggin. Jiggin June.

She loves to make up songs and is always full of drama. Her favorite is to watch herself in the mirror. Yesterday she said she had to look in the mirror to see if she was cute. She climbed up on her stool to look in the bathroom mirror and said "Yup, I'm cute!"

There isn't a day that goes by that we don't see Catina's stubborn streak. Sunday Greg had told her she could not go on the front porch unless she put a jacket on. She kept trying to get outside when something came out of Greg's mouth I never heard before. "If you go on the front porch without a jacket you will get a spanking." Catina froze. Then tip toed slowly to the door, almost touched it and then turned around as if it were her decision not to go outside. Greg had to hold a magazine over his face so she would not see that he was laughing.
